Year of the Boar, Seventh Month, Day 4. Postscript.

How could I have forgotten the very reason for my update? The bird! News from Fallen Sakura which surprised me. I did think that Nanami may have found a way to send another missive but it appears that she has not. My agent in Fallen Sakura tells me that Shigeru has taken to prowling around the House in foul rages which the court puts down to his marital strife. He may rot in all seven Hells for all I care.  The worrying news is that several letters seem to have left Fallen Sakura destined for Lady Yuika, It is not certain that it is Shigeru who has penned them but they bear his seal and his name. My agent wishes to know if they should be intercepted... Tempting though that is, I think the danger of my network being exposed is too great should my interference be discovered.  It concerns me that Shigeru or someone masquerading as he, should be trying to communicate with Lady Yuika but at this point, I do not think I can do anything about that.  In any case, it is far more urgent that I send the message I wrote to Nanami. I will add a postscript before I send the bird back and advise her of the letters so that she may prepare for Yuika's reaction... or ... hide the letters if she thinks that a wiser action.
I must also ask Nanami to begin training new birds. Not least of all because I have no plan if any of these birds should die in the near future. If she begins now, then by the time I arrive at Dying Crane they will only need to learn to recognise me and my network can return to its full potential since I will have a way to collect news from the South... if... when... by the time... in the future... things are extremely uncertain at present but I must not lose heart. A few more days resting, hiding here... and I will be ready to move up the coast and towards Silent Thunder. For now though, I must send the bird back to Nanami.
