Year of the Boar, Tenth Month, Day 15.

My efforts in Dying Crane's library yesterday evening proved surprisingly fruitful; for reasons I cannot begin to imagine, there were several scrolls containing information about Gulpinder and Aasha's last visit to the Ninth Kingdom. I see no reason to relay all I have read here since if someone should wish to know it, they can easily find the scrolls to which I refer. Needless to say that I now feel far more equiped to deal with this delegation. I do not imagine for a fraction of a stick that I shall have the time or inclination to improve my language skills before Rani arrives and I suppose that I will have to rely on Yuika for aid where communicating is concerned which makes it even more important that she is well. That aside, I am feeling more confident now, that this visit will not be a complete disaster.
The Diplomats have managed to stop squabbling for long enough to ensure that the House is going to be ready. The number of bedrooms for Rani's retinue presented a brief problem but Dying Crane's staff have all been allocated shared space for the duration of the visit which apparently used to be common practice when visitors to the House were more frequent. Extra supplies can easily be bought in and if necessary, I am told that we can bring in casual staff from the closest villages to help.
The only thing left to organise now, is Yuika and her behaviour. She has refused to keep her side of our bargain again today and as such, I feel that my only recourse is to take drastic action. If I have to, I will drag her into the Hall for meals myself...
